Abbotsford & Fraser Valley

Managed IT for Fraser Valley businesses that run on more than just office desks

Farms, processors, manufacturers, carriers and builders around Abbotsford depend on technology in barns, yards, plants and trucks as much as in the office. Podium Catchers supports organizations of 5 to 200 people across all of it.

Technology in the Fraser Valley economy

Abbotsford sits at the centre of one of BC’s most productive agricultural regions, and the local economy reflects it. Berry, poultry, dairy and greenhouse operations work alongside food processors, equipment dealers, manufacturers, trucking and logistics companies using the Highway 1 corridor and the border crossing at Sumas, and construction firms building across a fast-growing valley.

For these businesses, the office is often the smallest part of the operation. Technology has to work in a processing plant, a shop, a dispatch room, a barn office or a job-site trailer, sometimes on rural internet connections that are slower or less reliable than in the city. Seasonal peaks bring temporary staff who need accounts quickly and need them removed just as quickly at season’s end.

Many Fraser Valley companies are family-owned and owner-led, with one person informally handling IT. Our job is to take that load off them with practical support: dependable connectivity between sites, protected accounting and ERP systems, and simple processes for seasonal and field staff.

Services Fraser Valley clients need most

  • Multi-site and rural connectivity

Network management, cellular backup internet and site-to-site links connecting an office to plants, yards and farm sites.

  • Network monitoring with ISP escalation

Visibility into rural and business internet circuits so outages are spotted early and provider tickets are pursued with evidence.

  • Managed IT for mixed workforces

Help desk and Microsoft 365 for office, field and seasonal staff, with fast onboarding and clean offboarding.

  • Backup and business continuity

Protection for accounting, ERP and dispatch systems, plus plans for what happens when a site or system goes down during a busy season.

How support is delivered around Abbotsford

Podium Catchers publishes a contact address on South Fraser Way in Abbotsford. It is a contact address only: it is not a walk-in service location and does not, by itself, confirm on-site coverage for your premises, particularly rural properties or sites further up the valley.

Day-to-day support is delivered remotely through our help desk, device management and monitoring tools, which work well for distributed operations. Where a site visit is genuinely needed, such as installing Wi-Fi in a processing area or connecting a new building, availability is confirmed for each address in the written proposal. Please call or email before planning a meeting.

Frequently asked questions

Can you support farm or rural sites with poor internet?

Yes, within the limits of the available connection. We often add cellular or fixed wireless backup, prioritize business-critical traffic, and monitor the circuit so outages are escalated to the provider quickly.

Is your Abbotsford address a walk-in location?

No. It is a published contact address. Please call or email first; support is mainly remote, and any on-site work is confirmed for your address in the proposal.

How do you handle seasonal staff?

We set up standard onboarding and offboarding procedures, appropriate Microsoft 365 licence types and shared device options so temporary workers get access quickly and lose it promptly when the season ends.

Can you keep production equipment separate from our office network?

Yes. We segment networks so shop-floor controllers, cameras and processing equipment sit apart from office computers, which limits how far a problem or infection can spread.

Do you work with businesses elsewhere in the Fraser Valley?

Yes. Remote support works anywhere in the valley. On-site availability for locations such as Chilliwack, Mission or Langley is confirmed per address in the written proposal.
